Dr. Matthew Akano
Co-Founder & Principal Partner, Quayo Ecosense Limited
Dr. Matthew Akano is the Co-Founder and Principal Partner at Quayo Ecosense Limited, where he leads the firm’s mission to deliver innovative solutions in Business Process Automation, Internal Audit, Analytics, and Risk Management. With a career spanning leadership roles in both corporate governance and venture ecosystems, Matthew brings deep expertise in strategy, compliance, and operational excellence.
He previously served as Head of Fund Operations at Ventures Platform, and held senior audit roles at Ventoven Limited and Visafone Communications Limited, where he drove transformative improvements in internal controls and risk oversight.
Matthew holds a PhD and Master’s degree in Forensic Accounting from Charisma University. He is a Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professional (CRCMP), and a Fellow of the African Venture Philanthropy Alliance (AVPA) and the National Institute of Credit Administration (NICA).
